Full Position Description

Our rotational internship program offers a unique, exciting and challenging. opportunity for our interns to gain hands-on experience across departments within the industry. You, as one of our interns, will rotate through all our departments, including architecture, interior design, project management and construction management, to develop a complete understanding of the industry. McKissack is using state of the art management tools like AI and linear mapping throughout our various departments. You will have the opportunity to learn and participate in the new and exciting technology in our industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on learning and collaboration with designers, architects, directors, and managers to plan, design, develop and gain real-world experience working on projects across a spectrum of industries and locations. 
  • Learn and perform construction and project management duties including but not limited to documenting construction and project activities, preparing for and support coordination meetings, help support team in the field, and participate in project Owner, Architect and Contractor meetings (OAC).
  • Will assist in the management and coordination of RFIs, submittals, reviewing schedules, contractor proposals, and attending weekly project meetings.
  • Engage in the rich, exciting, collaborative culture of our office and firm by experiencing educational sessions and mentorship opportunities that include presentations, project tours, and job shadowing.

Qualifications:

  • In progress toward earning a bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills especially utilizing Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Passion for the AEC industry and a desire to learn and grow.
