McKissack & McKissack provided a full suite of construction management services as a member of the Design / Build team, from preconstruction through project closeout, for Marriot Marquis Chicago, one of Chicago’s largest four-star hotels.
The 40-story hotel rises above McCormick Place Convention Center and Wintrust Arena and features 1,205 modern guest rooms, more than 90,000 SF of meeting space, two 25,000 SF ballrooms and state-of-the art amenity spaces that include a 24-hour fitness center, high-speed fiberoptic connectivity and various restaurants. Specific services included: preconstruction design development assistance; construction project management; budgeting; subcontract management; project finance management; change management, onsite supervision; quality control and quality assurance monitoring; scheduling, compliance and financial requirement reporting; and community engagement activities. The new Marriott Marquis Chicago was planned as part of the McCormick Square event hub located north of McCormick Place. The hub includes Wintrust Arena.
