McKissack & McKissack is helping Peoples Gas upgrade its Chicago facilities to improve the workplace for its employees and service to its customers. McKissack is providing development assistance, design and construction management services for the utility’s master development plan, five new facilities and two renovated facilities.
To better serve its customers and workforce, the Peoples Gas unit of Integrys Energy Group undertook a five-year, $300 million renovation effort to improve its aging facilities. The scope of the project included a master development plan and construction of over 500,000 SF spread over five new and two renovated facilities. McKissack provided development assistance, design and construction management services for the master development plan, and planned, designed and constructed five new state-of-the-art facilities and renovated two existing facilities in a design-build arrangement. The total budget was $270 million, with the buildings ranging between $40 million and $60 million each. McKissack also performed the programming and set office standards throughout the corporation.
